Screen & Display Warranty – Dr. Phonez
At Dr. Phonez, we use premium quality screens for every display replacement. If a replacement screen begins showing unusual behavior after installation – such as delayed touch response, ghost touches, or unregistered touches – bring your device back to any of our locations for a technician inspection.
All warranty claims require an in-person visit. Messages, phone calls, or online submissions cannot be used to evaluate or approve a warranty claim. The device must be physically tested and diagnosed by one of our technicians.
Warranty Coverage by Screen Type
Most standard phone, iPad, and tablet display repairs include a lifetime labor warranty against installation defects.
For iPhone Pro and Pro Max models, warranty coverage depends on the screen tier selected at the time of repair:
| Screen Type | Warranty |
|---|---|
| OEM / Original OLED Screen | 6 Months |
| Premium Aftermarket OLED Screen | 6 Months |
| Aftermarket LCD Screen (Budget Option) | 90 Days |
iPhone Pro and Pro Max models originally come with OLED displays. Aftermarket LCD screens are available as a budget-friendly option – commonly chosen for trade-in devices – but we recommend Premium OLED or OEM screens for the best performance and longevity.
Why OLED over LCD? OLED screens deliver deeper blacks, more accurate colors, and better battery efficiency. LCD screens consume more power, may reduce battery life, and produce less vibrant colors by comparison.
Warranty duration is strictly determined by the screen type installed.
Warranty Conditions
For your warranty to remain valid, the replaced part must stay in its original condition after the repair.
The following will void your warranty:
- Any scratches on the display
- Cosmetic wear or physical damage to the screen
- Liquid exposure
- Cracks or shattered glass
- Frame bends or dents
- Pressure or impact damage
Devices with prior motherboard repairs or new liquid damage are not eligible for screen warranty service. Screen warranties also do not apply to motherboard repairs, computers, or other electronics unless clearly stated at the time of repair.
What Is Covered
If your replacement screen begins behaving unusually after installation — such as ghost touches, unresponsive touch areas, apps opening on their own, or inconsistent touch response — these symptoms may qualify for warranty service based on the screen tier and applicable timeframe.
Bring your device in and our technicians will inspect it in person, identify the cause, and provide the appropriate warranty service if eligible.
What Is Not Covered
The warranty does not apply to screens showing physical damage after the repair, including scratches, cracks, dents, or pressure marks.
The following issues are typically the result of internal panel damage from impact or pressure and are not covered under warranty:
- Discoloration or color distortion
- Flickering
- Vertical or horizontal lines (any color — purple, green, pink, white)
- Black spots or ink-like spreading marks
- Half or fully blacked-out screen
Even when the outer glass appears intact, internal panel damage from a drop, bend, or pressure voids the warranty.
Understanding Screen Lines, Spots & Discoloration
If you’re seeing lines, dark spots, or unusual discoloration on your screen – regardless of the shape or color – this is a sign of internal OLED or LCD panel damage. It is not a software issue and cannot be resolved with a reset, restore, or system update.
In many cases, the outer glass looks completely undamaged while the display panel underneath has cracked or been damaged from a drop, pressure, or bending. When this happens, you may notice:
- Vertical or horizontal lines in any color
- Black spots or ink-like spreading marks
- Discoloration or color distortion
- Flickering
- Half or full screen going dark or black
This is physical internal damage to the display layer – not the surface glass. Because it is impact-related, it is not covered under Dr. Phonez screen warranty or manufacturer warranty.
The only solution is a full screen replacement. Once the damaged panel is replaced, the lines and display issues will be completely resolved.
Bring your device to any Dr. Phonez location for a free in-person diagnosis and an accurate repair estimate.
